Types of Latex - 100% Organic
My Green Mattress handcrafts our mattresses using 100% natural latex distributed by Latex International. Other mattress companies may use synthetic latex or a blend of synthetic and natural latex in the production of their mattresses. Synthetic latex is a chemically produced, man-made substance that mimics the qualities of all natural latex.
Talalay Latex versus Dunlop Latex
Latex International, along with other latex companies,
uses one of two processes to transform the milk of
the tropical rubber tree into latex foam. Those two
processes are known as Talalay and Dunlop.
My Green Mattress chooses to use Talalay latex in the construction of its mattresses over Dunlop latex because Talalay latex is:
- More resilient and durable
- More consistent in structure
- Offered in more levels of firmness for your comfort
- More breathable because air is infused into the latex cell structure to provide a cooler sleep surface
- More comfortable according to our customer’s experience.
My Green Mattress Uses the Talatech® Latex Mattress Core
Latex International’s all natural Talalay latex is known as Talatech®. Talatech is the type of latex we use to handcraft all My Green Mattresses.
Latex International certifies that the compound used to manufacture Talatech® natural latex mattress cores is harvested from the “Hevea Brasiliensis” rubber tree, to which soaps and curing agents are added. Latex International does not use any man-made or synthetic latex in the Talatech® natural latex formula.
